Drivelines Studios is a mixed-use residential and retail building developed over an existing single story structure, previously a car repair shop. The new building is made entirely out of up-cycled shipping containers. Ironically, Johannesburg has a significant inland port and is the largest city in South Africa without a major body of water.
Situated along a main road axis, the building works as a billboard marking an entry point to the ever growing Maboneng Precinct. LOT-EK, an award winning architectural design studio based in New York, are the architects on this development.
