History

2008

Propertuity made its first property acquisition in downtown Johannesburg on the Eastern fringe of the inner city

Collaborating with architect, Enrico Daffonchio, they designed and conceptualised Propertuity’s first development, Arts on Main: a mixed use space for creatives to have an integrated live and work offering. With the support of important artists and institutions, such as William Kentridge and the Nirox foundation the development was completed in July 2009 and opened to a great reception from the local and international creative community.

The success of Arts on Main propelled Propertuity to begin planning the development of the surrounding area into a connected urban neighbourhood.

2009

Propertuity purchased their second building 500m from Arts on Main at 286 Fox Street and embarked on the major development of Main Street Life: an apartment building with 194 residential apartments, a boutique hotel and ground floor retail.

2010

Completion of Main street life & construction begins on Revolution House, The Main  Change & Fox Street Studios

2011

Propertuity developed a further 3 buildings offering further residential, commercial and retail spaces and the neighbourhood quickly expanded to over 1500 new community members living and working in Maboneng.

2012

Propertuity purchases a number of new buildings, providing the framework for an extended expansion of Maboneng

2013

More recent projects for Propertuity in 2013 include the completion of Artisan Lofts, Maverick Corner, Curiocity Backpackers, Remed’s view and MOAD: The Museum of African Design. The year has also saw the Propertuity portfolio grow to a total of 38 buildings in the Maboneng area and the Propertuity team to 20 head office employees.

2014

While Propertuity continues to develop in the Maboneng Precinct, 2014 has been an immense year for the growth of the company with further acquisitions in the Johannesburg CBD, as well as the launch of Propertuity Durban. Propertuity Durban launched in August 2014 at 8 Morrison Street, Rivertown, where in collaboration with local architects, designers and innovators, Propertuity has begun to shape a new Durban.
